Towing Company Woodbridge NJ: the questions, answered the way our dispatcher answers them
Find your question, read the answer, then call. Nothing below differs from what the dispatcher would tell you on the phone at any hour.
Everything Woodbridge drivers and fleet managers ask a towing company before they book
The trucks are ours, the drivers are ours, the licence and the insurance are current, the fee is $149 by phone or $129 online, the mileage is spoken before dispatch, and businesses get a single monthly invoice.
Is this a real towing company in Woodbridge or a call center that passes my number along?
A real one. Our trucks are parked in Linden, twelve minutes up Route 1, our drivers are on the payroll, and the person answering (908) 666-3168 is the dispatcher who sends the truck. Your call is never sold, forwarded or auctioned to a contractor.
How can I check that a towing company in Woodbridge is licensed and insured?
Ask the dispatcher directly, then look at the truck when it arrives: a New Jersey licence on the vehicle, a company name on the door, and a receipt at the end with that same name and number. We say yes to all of it on the phone and the paperwork backs it up.
What does a tow cost with your company in Woodbridge?
Two numbers. The booking fee, $149 by phone or $129 when you book online, pays for the truck and the hook-up; the per-mile charge to your garage or driveway is spoken before we leave. A jump, a tire, a lockout or a fuel drop is a single flat price instead, and nothing is added for the hour or the date. Every line is on the prices page.
Are the trucks yours, or do you send someone else's?
Ours, driven by our people. Flatbeds, wheel-lifts and medium and heavy-duty trucks, all dispatched from one yard. If a job genuinely needs equipment we do not run, we tell you so instead of sending a stranger with our blessing.
How long does it take your truck to reach Woodbridge?
The yard is about twelve minutes from the Woodbridge split by Route 1, and Avenel and Colonia are closer still. A company truck is often already working Metropark, the mall or the Keasbey docks. The dispatcher gives you a window from the nearest truck's real location.
Do you set up accounts for warehouses, offices and shops in Woodbridge?
Yes. Logistics operators in Keasbey and Port Reading, property managers at Metropark, dealers on Route 1 and Route 9, and body shops on Amboy Avenue all get a direct line, a rate sheet, scheduled windows and one invoice a month. Ask dispatch to open a fleet account.
What if the driver scratches or damages my car?
Every car is photographed before loading and again at delivery, so there is a record either way. The company is insured and a claim is handled by the office, not disputed with a driver in a parking lot.
Will you take my car to an impound or storage yard?
Not unless you name one. Our tows end at your mechanic, your dealer or your driveway, and since the company owns no lot there is nothing to bill you storage for and nothing to release.
Do I need AAA or an insurance plan to use your company?
Nothing of the kind. You call, you hear the price, you pay it. Reimbursement from a roadside plan or an insurer comes afterward from the itemized receipt, which lists the fee, the miles and any recovery work the way those desks expect.
Can your company handle an AWD SUV, an electric car or a lowered car?
Yes, on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground and strapped at the tires. Tell the dispatcher the make and whether it is AWD, electric or lowered, and the right truck leaves the first time.
Do you tow box trucks, tractors and chassis in Keasbey and Port Reading?
Yes. Medium and heavy-duty trucks are part of the same company fleet and come from the same yard. Box trucks, sprinters, shuttle buses, tractors and loaded chassis on Smith Street, Port Reading Avenue, Route 440 and the Exit 11 warehouse roads.
My car died on the Turnpike near Exit 11. Can your truck come onto the shoulder?
On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price. Routes 1 & 9, Route 35, Route 27, Route 440 and every local road in Woodbridge are a direct dispatch.
What about the Garden State Parkway between Exit 127 and Exit 131?
Same rule. Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot. Once you are off the ramp, whether at Rahway Avenue, Route 1 or Route 27, our own truck takes over.
Is one of your trucks near me in Woodbridge right now?
More often than not. Our trucks work Woodbridge at every hour and the yard is a short run up Route 1. Tell the dispatcher which section you are in and a cross street, lot name or deck level, and she reads you the minutes to the closest company truck.
Can I book your company online instead of calling?
Yes. Book online and the fee is $129 instead of $149. If you are on a live road, call (908) 666-3168; the dispatcher is faster than a form.
Who actually shows up when I call?
A driver on our payroll, in a truck we own, with our name painted on the door. Before he arrives you already know his name and which truck to look for, because the dispatcher told you, and he phones as he gets close.
Do you tow motorcycles in Woodbridge?
Yes, on a flatbed with a front-wheel chock and soft straps, never in a sling. From a Route 35 shoulder, a garage in Fords where the bike sat all winter, or a Metropark deck.
Can you tow from Woodbridge to a shop in Edison, Perth Amboy or Rahway?
Yes. Crossing into a neighboring town changes nothing but the mileage figure. Runs to the shore, New York or Pennsylvania are quoted as a single long-distance price on one flatbed, tolls included.
Can I ride in the truck with my car?
Yes. The cab seats one or two riders and there is no charge for them. A bigger group is something to mention to the dispatcher so it can be planned; nobody gets left standing on Route 9.
What happens if the driver finds the job is bigger than I described?
Nothing extra happens without a number first. The booking fee stays where it was; if the car turns out not to roll or steer, the driver prices the winch or the dollies right there and waits for your yes.
Is it more expensive at night, on a Sunday or on a holiday?
No. The same company staffs the overnight, so a tow at 3 a.m. on a holiday is the same booking fee and the same mileage rate as a weekday afternoon.
How do I pay, and do fleets get terms?
Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash, on the spot, at any hour. Fleet, shop and dealer accounts run on net terms with one monthly invoice.
Are you hiring drivers in the Woodbridge area?
Yes, for flatbed and wheel-lift trucks, plus owner-operators who bring a truck of their own and roadside providers. The current list is on the driver jobs page.
